About Belvedere Life

Belvedere Life is a guidance resource for couples exploring and living female-led relationships. We are Cass and DJ Lockhart, and we write from over a decade of lived experience in our own female-led relationship, not from theory. Everything here is grounded in one belief: a relationship led with intention, honesty, and care is a stronger relationship.

Based in Palm Springs, California, we started Belvedere Life in 2024 to offer something the internet was missing: guidance on female-led relationships that treats the people in them as adults making considered choices, free of judgment and free of sensationalism.

A female-led relationship is not about control for its own sake. It is about a woman taking an intentional leadership role within a partnership, with the full consent and devotion of both people. The dynamic only works when it is built on three things: trust, clear communication, and mutual respect.

We treat consent as ongoing, never assumed. We treat structure as a tool for clarity and growth, never as punishment. And we treat every couple as the authors of their own dynamic, because no two relationships balance leadership and devotion the same way. Ours has taken more than ten years to find its shape, and it is still finding it.

We do not glamorize and we do not shock. We explain. Whether we are writing about the foundations of an FLR, chastity as a form of commitment, domestic discipline as accountability, or feminisation as identity exploration, we lead with the emotional intelligence the subject deserves.

If a practice could be misread as coercive, we say plainly that it should never be approached through fear, humiliation, or pressure. We write about what we have lived, and where our experience ends, we say so.

A belvedere is a structure built for the view: a place to see clearly and think calmly, raised slightly above the noise. That is the perspective we try to bring to a subject too often reduced to cliché.
